The Haut-Lac International Bilingual School opened in 1993 with 13 students and 2 primary school teachers. Today they have more than 600 students between the ages of 3 and 19, offering a full bilingual programme in French and English to the local and foreign communities in Vevey; Nestlé has also its headquarter in Vevey with more than 3000 staff. The Haut-Lac International Bilingual School students have attended all festivals but the first in 2006. The school was one of the few to be authorised by the IBO to offer film studies in 2005 as a pilot scheme.  In 2009 the Haut-Lac International Bilingual School will be one of the co-organisers of the festival being hosted in the school's alpine location near Gstaad.
